Peta Murgatroyd's Surprising Take on Husband Maksim Chmerkovskiy
In a recent sit-down with Health magazine for its September issue, professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd opened up about her husband, fellow dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy. The two have been a power couple ever since tying the knot in 2017, and Peta had nothing but glowing things to say about him—except for one quirky detail. She revealed that Maksim doesn't use soap, and oddly enough, she finds it incredibly attractive.
The Soap-Free Secret That Turns Heads
Now, you might be thinking, "Wait, no soap?" But hear Peta out. She explained how even after intense training sessions, Maksim remains surprisingly fresh. "Even after training, he doesn’t have BO! I’ve smelled his armpits," Peta admitted candidly. "Like, I have to wear deodorant; he just sprays lemon under his arms. It's so weird. I’m like, 'You’re this big guy, sweating at the gym,' and he’s like, 'I don’t know. I’ve never used soap on my body.' It’s strange, but honestly, I find it super sexy." Who would’ve thought?

Marriage Challenges: Finding Common Ground
While Peta clearly adores Maksim, she also shared some of the challenges they’ve faced as a couple. One of the biggest hurdles? Their vastly different upbringings. "I come from a very nurturing family where we don’t raise our voices unless we’re in an argument," Peta explained. "In his family, they raise their voices even when they’re talking lovingly to each other." This cultural difference has led to some amusing misunderstandings. "I’m like, 'You want to go to the movies?' 'No.' And I’m like, 'Are you okay? Did I do something wrong?'”
Despite these differences, Peta appreciates Maksim's honesty. "He’s just so, so honest," she said. "Some days I can take it. Some days I don’t want to take it. But if that’s the biggest problem we have, then we’re doing just fine." And fine they are! The couple welcomed their son, Shai, in 2017 and continues to thrive as a family.

Future Plans and Vision Boards
Looking ahead, Peta and Maksim are all about setting goals together. "We really believe in putting things out there," Peta said. "If you put it out there, you will get it." The couple spends much of their free time browsing real estate and creating vision boards for their future. "We’re both very hardworking, passionate people," Peta added. "We don’t come from money, so everything we have is because of our own efforts. And I feel really grateful, because nothing has ever been handed to me." It’s clear that this dynamic duo is committed to building a bright future together.
