When Life Gets Complicated: The Struggles of a Power Couple

It wasn’t easy for Julia Roberts and Danny Moder. In late 2017 and early 2018, the beloved actress was juggling multiple projects, working around the clock to keep her career thriving. It created a rift between them, and Danny often retreated to their property across the street when things got heated.”

One of Julia’s biggest gestures came in the form of a dream vacation. In late June, the couple, along with some of Danny’s friends, their spouses, and their kids, set off for a week-long adventure. “Julia even flew most of the group out on her private plane,” the friend added. “They had the entire island to themselves, and it was exactly what they needed to reconnect.”

Rebuilding Together: Small Gestures, Big Impact

Even before the trip, Julia had been working hard to mend fences. When she returned home from filming her latest movie, Ben Is Back, she surprised Danny and their kids—Henry, 11, and twins Phinnaeus and Hazel, 13—with a black lab puppy named Brown. “She thought it would bring them together as a family,” the friend said. “It was a small gesture, but it meant a lot.”

She also made changes to her professional schedule to spend more time at home. Instead of shooting her new Amazon series, Homecoming, in a distant location, she chose to film in LA, close to their Malibu home. “Being able to come home at night has made a huge difference,” the friend noted. “Julia’s learning to let go of some of the control that caused so many problems in their marriage, and it’s easing the tension between them.”

For Danny, the trip to Fiji meant everything. “Julia’s hoping this will be the turning point they need to strengthen their marriage,” the friend concluded. “They’re both committed to making it work, and it’s clear they still have so much love for each other.”
