How Buddy Valastro Is Keeping His Mom's Memory Alive This Mother's Day
This May, as we celebrate Mother's Day, the Cake Boss star Buddy Valastro reflects on the first Mother's Day since the passing of his cherished mom, Mary Valastro. Instead of succumbing to sorrow, Buddy and his family have decided to honor Mary in a heartfelt way. Buddy, now 41, shared his feelings in a deeply moving post: "It’s been nearly a year now without my mother, and not a single day goes by that I don’t think about her. Her energy was something extraordinary, and it continues to inspire me every day," he penned.
In a touching Mother's Day message published by People, Buddy expressed his gratitude for the time his mother had with his four children. "I’m so grateful that she had the chance to meet, love, and hold all four of my kids. To have been in the presence of my mother and to know her was truly a gift, one that I will always be thankful for," Buddy wrote. His words reflect the profound impact Mary had on his life and the lives of those around her.

Buddy's tribute to his mother didn’t end there. He added, "This is a tough time for all of us, and I do ask for your patience and respect while we process this loss. Her battle with ALS has ended, she’s no longer suffering, and I hope she’s dancing to 'I Will Survive' with my dad right now." Buddy's father, Bartolo "Buddy" Valastro, Sr., passed away in March 1994 at the age of 54 after a brief battle with lung cancer. The family has faced immense challenges, but their resilience and love for one another shine through in every word Buddy shares.

This is a difficult time for all of us and I do ask for your patience and respect while we let this sink in. Remembering Mary on Her Special Day
Just a few weeks ago, Buddy took a moment to celebrate his late mother on what would have been her 70th birthday. He shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, saying, "Spending today remembering just how much we love and miss our dear momma. Wish we were all together celebrating, but I hope she’s having a great time with dad. Happy birthday!" Buddy’s words remind us of the importance of celebrating the lives of those we’ve lost, rather than focusing solely on their absence.
