In a recent interview, Legend quipped, "You just have to listen to each other, love each other, take care of each other, and communicate well. This wasn’t the first time the 39-year-old music icon weighed in on Harry and Meghan’s big day. Right after the couple tied the knot, Legend addressed the elephant in the room—Meghan’s drama with her dad, Thomas Markle, which ultimately led to him skipping the wedding. In a candid chat with Billboard at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, Legend shared his thoughts on the whole situation. "You know, you don’t get to pick your family, and everyone has that one relative who might embarrass them at some point," he said. "But here’s Meghan, in the most high-profile situation in the world. She had to handle her family drama in the public eye in a way that most of us would never have to. Props to her for handling it with such grace."
He added, "Her family, especially her mom, handled it beautifully too. I’m genuinely happy for Harry and Meghan and wish them all the best. They’re setting off on an incredible journey together!" Legend’s words were a heartfelt reminder that even royals have to deal with family drama, just like the rest of us.
