Of course, the world was mesmerized by Michelle’s talent. So when she stepped back to focus on raising her children, Claudia, 25, and John, 23, with her producer husband David E. Kelley, fans missed her presence. But for Michelle, family always came first. “I was careful about the projects I took on and how much time I spent away from home,” she explains. “Being a working mom wasn’t easy, but it was worth it.” Now that her kids are grown and she’s an empty-nester, Michelle feels proud of her emotional growth. “She’s on an incredible journey,” her friend notes.

Now that her kids are grown, Michelle’s ready to dive back into her career. “I’ve realized I’m not done yet,” she says. “There’s so much more I want to do, so much more I want to say.
