Oh, poor Sheryl Berkoff! Let’s give her some love, folks. Rob Lowe, the legendary actor, stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, May 9, and made a lighthearted joke about how he sleeps better when he's out on the road than when he’s at home with his wife of almost 27 years. Don’t worry, it’s all in good fun!
Here's what Rob had to say: "I sleep better on the road because I’m not with my wife," he confessed with a chuckle. "People, it’s the truth. I love her enough to speak the truth." Now, you might be wondering why this is the case. Well, it turns out Sheryl has a bit of a late-night iPad habit, specifically with the game Family Feud. Rob joked about how she wakes him up in the middle of the night saying, “Honey, honey! Quick, name five foods that are gross!” And his response? “I’m like, I just want to go to bed.” Can you blame him? Who wouldn’t want to sleep a little longer?

Now, Rob was only teasing, because let’s be real, family is everything to this guy. "Family means absolutely everything to Rob," a close friend of the actor revealed in an exclusive interview with Closer Weekly. "It’s what’s kept him grounded and sober now for nearly 26 years. It helped Rob organize the priorities in his life." That’s some serious commitment, folks!
Meet the Lowe Family
Rob and Sheryl have two incredible sons, Matthew, who’s 25, and John, who’s 23. "Rob and Sheryl knew they did something right with these two boys," the friend added. "And Rob is so close with his sons, they truly are his two best friends, along with their mother." It’s like a little family unit that works together and supports each other in every way imaginable.
Rob Lowe's Boys Are Achieving Great Things
During his chat with Ellen, Rob couldn’t help but gush about what his sons are up to. "So, Matthew’s the lawyer in the family. I figured I can get someone cheap to do my legal work," he joked. "Then John Owen was the youngest published author in stem cell research when he was an assistant at the Eli Broad stem cell lab. That’s what got him into Stanford. Now he’s graduating with straight As." Whoa, talk about some impressive kids!

And if you thought John couldn’t get any cooler, wait for this! Once he graduates, he wants to follow in his dad’s footsteps and get into acting. Rob joked about it, saying, "Look, let’s face it: that’s great because I think we can all agree that what society needs is one less person going to cure cancer and one more actor." Classic Rob Lowe humor right there!
