Hey there, TV fans! So, you know Sarah Drew, the beloved actress from Grey’s Anatomy? She’s speaking up loud and clear about her fellow castmate, Kelly McCreary. If you’ve been watching Grey’s Anatomy, you’ve likely noticed the on-screen romance between Kelly’s character, Dr. Maggie Pierce, and Dr. Jackson Avery, played by Jesse Williams. But here’s the twist: Jackson was once married to Sarah’s character, Dr. April Kepner. Naturally, this has stirred up some strong feelings among fans. On May 8, Sarah took to social media to step in and defend her friend Kelly from the harsh critics who haven’t been too kind about this storyline.

Listen up, folks. Sarah Drew wanted to set the record straight on Twitter. She addressed some of the fans, specifically those who’ve been less than kind to Kelly. “I need to say something to some of you,” Sarah wrote. “I say ‘some’ because I know that many of you are not participating in this. Look, I get it — these characters mean so much to you, trust me, they mean a lot to me too. But here’s the thing: I don’t feel supported when you go after my friends.”

  • She went on to express her admiration for Kelly. “My beautiful, loving, loyal sister, Kelly, is not only brilliant but also a fiercely talented team player. She’s always there, showing up and dedicating herself to the stories she’s asked to tell. So, please, stop attacking her for doing her job. When you hurt her, you hurt me. When you show kindness to her, you show kindness to me. Let’s choose kindness, okay?”

But wait, the drama doesn’t stop there. If you’ve been following Grey’s Anatomy, you know there’s been more upheaval lately. Back in early March, co-showrunner and executive producer Krista Vernoff dropped a bombshell. Both Sarah and her co-star Jessica Capshaw, who plays Dr. Arizona Robbins, are leaving the series after Season 14. Oof, that’s a big deal for fans who’ve grown to love these characters.

Krista Vernoff shared her thoughts with Entertainment Tonight. “Arizona, played by Jessica, and April, played by Sarah, are forever woven into the heart of Grey’s Anatomy because of the incredible work of Jessica Capshaw and Sarah Drew. As writers, we have a responsibility to follow the stories where they lead us, and sometimes that means saying goodbye to characters we adore.”
