“It feels like my first time,” Joanna Gaines confesses with a smile as she talks about her fifth pregnancy. After seven long years since the arrival of their youngest, Joanna and Chip Gaines are diving headfirst into the joy of expecting again. “The best part of all this,” Joanna shares warmly, “is how thrilled our kids are about their new baby brother.” Drake, 12, Ella, 11, Duke, 9, and Emmie, 7, are absolutely enchanted by Joanna’s growing belly. “They just can’t wait to meet him!” Joanna says, her voice brimming with excitement. But this isn’t the only project keeping the Gaines family busy.
As the couple wraps up their beloved HGTV show, Fixer Upper, they’re stepping into a new season of life with open arms. Joanna reflects, “The end of this final season isn’t about closing a chapter; it’s about opening a new one.” Chip, who once wrote in his 2017 book, Capital Gaines, that “complacency is the enemy,” is leading the charge with Joanna into this next adventure.

A New Restaurant and a Cookbook
With their new restaurant in Waco, TX, already up and running, Joanna’s companion cookbook, Magnolia Table, is set to hit shelves on April 24. In this heartfelt collection, Joanna shares not just recipes but the stories and traditions behind them. “Cooking is such a special part of my life,” Joanna explains. “There’s nothing quite like gathering around the table with family and friends. It’s a gift I treasure deeply.”
Expanding the Magnolia Empire
But the Gaines’ ambitions don’t stop there. They’re also gearing up to launch Magnolia Kids, a line of children’s furniture and accessories designed to inspire creativity and fun. On top of that, they’re still flipping houses and building about 20 new homes in their hometown. Joanna notes with pride, “We’re always looking for ways to bring beauty and functionality to people’s lives.”

Running a Marathon and Chasing Dreams
Adding yet another layer to their already-full lives, Chip is training for a marathon in May. “It’s been incredible watching the kids line up to cheer him on as he runs down our driveway,” Joanna says, her voice tinged with emotion. “It always brings tears to my eyes.” Despite the whirlwind of activity, the Gaines family seems to thrive on the challenge. “The human heart was made to swell, and jump, and stir,” Chip reflects. “When you’re chasing your dreams—no matter what they are—trust me, the work is worth it!”
