Let me tell you a story about family, legacy, and style. During Milan Fashion Week, Princess Diana's niece, Kitty Spencer, graced the runway at the Dolce & Gabbana “Secrets and Diamonds” show. Now, Kitty, who’s just 27 years old, looks remarkably like her late aunt. It was Sunday, February 25, when she stole the show wearing a stunning piece from the designer duo's latest collection, complete with a tiara. Kitty, who was only six when Princess Diana tragically passed, is also the face of Dolce & Gabbana’s upcoming Spring/Summer 2018 ad campaign. If you haven’t seen it yet, stick around for the video below where Kitty channels her iconic aunt on the runway!
After the show, Kitty took to social media to express her admiration for the designers. She wrote, “Congratulations to two men who do everything with such kindness and love. Today’s #DGFashionDevotion show was an unforgettable experience, @DolceGabbana. You are geniuses, and your creativity truly knows no bounds.” Earlier, Kitty had opened up about her connection to the royal family and admitted she doesn’t have many memories of Diana before her untimely death. “I was so young when she was alive,” she told Vanity Fair. “There are only a few memories, but they’re special and happy ones, and I’m incredibly lucky to have them.”
Growing Up Far From the Spotlight
Unlike her cousins, Prince William and Prince Harry, Kitty grew up away from the royal spotlight in South Africa. She’s the daughter of Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, and model Victoria Lockwood. After Diana’s tragic death, Kitty’s family made the decision to leave London, and Kitty has always appreciated that choice. In 2016, she told The Telegraph, “It’s the sort of environment that any parent would want to give their child. It’s a wholesome upbringing. I love that my parents gave me that. I don’t think anyone knew much about my family. It was great to grow up in an environment where people built each other up. In South Africa, you’d be judged if you weren’t kind to others.”

A Bright Future Ahead
As Kitty continues to carve her own path, she refuses to let the pressure of her royal lineage weigh her down. She explained, “You can opt out if you don’t believe in it, but you have to really believe in why you’re opting out and stick with it. I don’t feel pressured to fit into any box. I’ve never felt confined in that way, but I’m aware that those restrictions have always been there for women.” Kitty’s journey is just beginning, and it’s exciting to see how she’ll continue to shine in her own light while honoring her family’s legacy.
