Turns out, having famous parents isn't all it's cracked up to be, and Olivia Jade Loughlin knows this firsthand. The 18-year-old daughter of Lori Loughlin and fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli recently spilled the tea on her YouTube channel about what it's really like growing up with parents who are constantly in the public eye.
“I don’t give it much thought, and I know I say that all the time, but it’s true,” Olivia shared, reflecting on her life as the daughter of a Full House star and a renowned fashion designer. But the journey wasn’t all roses. “When I was younger—around six, seven, or eight—I’d often wonder, ‘Do they want to be my friend because of me or because of my mom and dad?’” she explained. “That’s probably not something a kid that age should have to think about, but it’s just part of the territory.”

She went on to explain that by the time she was eight, she had her guard up. “It was kind of like a red flag for me,” Olivia admitted. But she’s grateful for the lessons she’s learned. “In a way, it’s been a blessing because it’s helped me figure out who my real friends are, and that’s pretty cool.”
Big Sister Bella Weighs In
Olivia’s older sister, Bella, 19, chimed in on the family dynamics during an interview with Teen Vogue. “It’s funny because I sometimes forget that Mom is famous. You know, it’s weird to see her on TV and then turn around and see her cooking dinner,” Bella joked. Olivia added, “Honestly, I didn’t fully grasp how successful Full House was until recently. I clicked on the Netflix Fuller House promo and saw it had over 13 million views. That’s when it hit me.”

Keeping It Real
It’s refreshing to see how grounded Lori and her family remain despite their fame. When asked if they’d ever consider a reality show, Lori was quick to respond. “Nope, not interested. We’ve been approached a few times, but honestly, we’re not that exciting,” she laughed. “I’ve got two amazing daughters—Olivia Jade’s YouTube channel is thriving, and Bella is excelling in her first year of college while also pursuing an acting career. They’re both doing so well, and I couldn’t be prouder.”
