It seems Meghan Markle has won over two very special members of the royal family—Queen Elizabeth's beloved corgis. Now, these aren't just any dogs; they're practically royalty themselves. And let's face it, they haven't always been the biggest fans of Prince Harry. But Meghan? Well, she's got a way with animals.
Harry Opens Up About the Corgis' Approval
In their first-ever joint interview as a couple, Harry couldn't help but tease Meghan about how quickly the corgis took to her. "The corgis took to you straight away," he joked. "I’ve spent the last 33 years being barked at; this one walks in, absolutely nothing." It’s a funny moment that gives us a glimpse into the playful side of their relationship. But Meghan wasn't about to let Harry have all the fun. She admitted that she's already formed a bond with the Queen's furry companions, saying, "That's true. Just laying on my feet during tea, it was very sweet." It's moments like these that remind us just how down-to-earth these two are, even amidst all the royal pomp and circumstance.
Meghan's Love for Dogs
It shouldn't come as a surprise that the corgis took to Meghan so quickly. After all, she's a devoted dog-lover and proud owner of two rescue pups back home. The Suits star adopted a labrador-shepherd named Bogart and a beagle named Guy years ago. Now, she's in the process of bringing them to the UK with her. "I have two dogs that I’ve had for quite a long time, both my rescue pups," Meghan shared during the interview just hours after their engagement announcement. "One is now staying with very close friends, and my other little guy is — yes, he's in the UK. He’s been here for a while." It's clear that these dogs mean the world to her, and we can't wait to see how they adjust to their new royal life.

Bringing the Dogs to the UK
However, getting her dogs to live in the UK permanently isn't as simple as packing up and going. According to Us Weekly, there are quite a few hoops to jump through. For starters, the dogs will need to be microchipped, receive a rabies vaccination, and undergo a blood test 30 days after the vaccination to ensure it's effective. On top of that, they'll need to be treated for tapeworm and provide all the necessary paperwork to prove they've completed these steps. It's a lot, but we're sure Meghan is up to the task. After all, she's already managed to charm not only the royal family but their furry members as well.
We're rooting for Meghan to reunite with both of her dogs soon. And we're confident they'll fit right in with the royal pack. After all, if they've got Meghan's heart, they've got a place in this family.
