Many viewers noticed a distinct difference in the character Kristin Baxter, and now we finally have the inside scoop on what went down.
It turns out that the role of Kristin Baxter was recast after the first season! If you’ve been following the show closely, you might’ve picked up on the subtle shift in the character's portrayal. But don’t worry, we’re about to break it all down for you.

Who Played Kristin Baxter?
Initially, Alexandra Krosney took on the role of Kristin Baxter in the first season of the series back in 2011. However, after her departure, Amanda Fuller stepped in to continue the character's journey from 2012 until the show's unfortunate cancellation in 2017. Fans might recognize Amanda from her role as Dr. Alex Karev’s intern on 'Grey’s Anatomy.'
As it turns out, Alexandra was let go by ABC because they believed Amanda was a better fit for the role at that time. The network thought that the age difference between the two actresses (Amanda being older) would allow them to tweak the family dynamic in a way that suited the show better. It’s fascinating how these behind-the-scenes decisions can shape the entire direction of a series, isn’t it?

What Happened to 'Last Man Standing'?
Unfortunately, despite all the cast changes and adjustments, ABC decided to pull the plug on 'Last Man Standing' back in May. Tim Allen, the show's beloved star, was understandably heartbroken about the news. He expressed his shock and disappointment on Twitter, saying, “Stunned and blindsided by the network I called home for the last six years. #LastManStanding.”
According to ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey, the decision to cancel the show came down to scheduling conflicts. He admitted that canceling shows is never easy, especially when they perform well in the ratings. “'Last Man Standing' was particularly challenging for me because it was a consistent performer, but once we decided to move away from airing comedies on Fridays, that’s where we landed,” Dungey explained.
While the future of 'Last Man Standing' remains uncertain, networks like CMT and NBC have already passed on picking it up. But hey, we’re not ready to give up hope just yet. Who knows? Maybe another network will see the potential in this beloved series and bring it back for more laughs!
