Still got it! You might remember her as the iconic Alexis Carrington from the blockbuster '80s drama Dynasty, but today, at the ripe age of 85, Joan Collins continues to inspire with her vibrant career, a thriving fifth marriage, and her ability to handle life's challenges head-on. Let's dive into her remarkable journey.
Joan hasn’t slowed down one bit. She’s still rocking it with an impressive six-decade career, taking on new roles in shows like American Horror Story. Not only is she still acting, but she’s also enjoying a loving relationship with her husband of 16 years, Percy Gibson, who happens to be 32 years younger than her. When asked about her youthful marriage, Joan says it keeps her on her toes. “Being with someone who has energy, vitality, and good health encourages me to stay in shape, both physically and mentally,” she explains. But life hasn’t always been easy. Joan has faced her share of losses, including the passing of her sister, Jackie Collins, in 2015. “You never truly get over losing someone you love,” Joan admits. “I keep her memory alive by surrounding myself with her things. We made so many unforgettable memories here in LA.”

Joan's Philosophy on Life
Through all her experiences, Joan has learned to live each day to the fullest. “You’ve got to devour life, or life will devour you,” she says with conviction. “People haven’t called me fearless before, but I suppose I am in a way.” Joan adds, “When you reach a certain age, there’s really nothing left to fear. You’ve already faced so much, and you realize you can handle it.”

Her Legacy on 'Dynasty'
For 37 years, Joan has been synonymous with her role as Alexis Carrington on Dynasty. She brought the character to life with a unique blend of heartlessness and glamour. “I based Alexis on all the ruthless businessmen I knew,” Joan reveals. “But the flashy, over-the-top fashion was inspired by one of my best friends, who was incredibly glamorous but also deeply unhappy. I don’t think Alexis was miserable, though. I believe she loved her life and lived it to the fullest.”

Joan's Commitment to Living Fully
Even decades after Dynasty ended, Joan continues to live by Alexis’ mantra of embracing life fully. “People kept telling me I’d be over by the time I was 24,” Joan laughs. “Men told me that over and over again, but clearly, they were wrong!” And she has no intention of slowing down. “I’ve worked hard my whole life, but every morning, I wake up feeling incredibly fortunate,” she confesses. “Life brings me so much joy.”
