Let’s face it, the Douglas family is a powerhouse of talent, and it’s not just Michael and Kirk Douglas who’ve made their mark in Hollywood. In a heartfelt chat with Entertainment Tonight, Michael, now 74, revealed that his three kids are ready to take the stage — or the screen — and follow in the family footsteps.
“Right now, all three of my kids — Cameron, Dylan, and Carys — want to be actors,” Michael shared at the premiere of his latest Netflix series, The Kominsky Method. He didn’t stop there, adding, “And even my niece, Kelsey! That makes four of the next generation. My dad and I have been in the business for about 120 years, with over 130 films between us. So, there’s a lot of experience and passion to pass on. Oh, and by the way, we just welcomed a little granddaughter, Lua. She might just be the next Douglas to light up the screen!”
Family Business: The Next Generation of Douglas Stars

Michael’s eldest son, Cameron, 39, from his first marriage to Diandra Luker, has already dipped his toes into the acting world. He made his debut in the 1997 film Mr. Nice Guy and has been dabbling in the industry ever since. But it’s not just Cameron who’s following in the family tradition. Michael’s younger children, Dylan, 18, and Carys, 15, from his marriage to Catherine Zeta-Jones, are also showing a keen interest in Hollywood careers. It seems the Douglas charm and talent are truly hereditary.

Words of Wisdom: Michael’s Advice to Aspiring Actors
With his kids eager to step into the spotlight, Michael has some sage advice for them. “Listen, don’t get into this business if the only thing that’s going to make you happy is being a star,” he cautioned. “You’ve got to love acting, truly love it. The odds are tough, but if you’ve got that passion, that joy — well, look at me. I’m in my seventies, and I’m still loving every minute of it. It’s a beautiful ride if you’re in it for the right reasons.”
