It’s been quite some time since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot in one of the most talked-about royal weddings in history. Despite the event being months ago, the ripple effects are still being felt, especially within Meghan’s extended family. Many members are still expressing their disappointment over not being invited to the star-studded affair.
In a candid conversation with The Mirror, Meghan’s uncle, Michael Markle, opened up about his feelings regarding the royal wedding. He shared that he was deeply hurt that he wasn’t given the opportunity to witness his niece’s special day at Windsor Castle. “I thought I would be invited,” he admitted. “But, alas, I didn’t hear from her.”
Michael went on to reveal that he would have been more than willing to step in for Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, who unfortunately fell ill just before the wedding. However, his offer was not considered by the royal family. “Yes, I would have done it,” Michael explained. “I don’t know how much influence the royal family had over her decision, but they didn’t make exceptions for anyone else, so they couldn’t make one for me.”

Prince Charles Steps In
When Thomas Markle was unable to attend the wedding, Meghan turned to Harry’s father, Prince Charles, to walk her down the aisle. Prince Charles graciously accepted the honor, ensuring Meghan had the support she needed on her special day. Kensington Palace announced this heartwarming decision via Twitter just a day before the wedding.
“Ms. Markle has asked his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales to accompany her down the aisle of the Quire of St. George’s Chapel on her Wedding Day. The Prince of Wales is pleased to be able to welcome Ms. Markle to the royal family in this way,” the official statement read.
