Angelina Jolie Steps Aside: Brad Pitt Gains Major Victory in Custody Battle
Listen, folks, the story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie has been a rollercoaster, and it just took another turn. For almost two years, Angelina has been the one calling the shots when it comes to their kids—Maddox, 16, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 9. She’s had primary custody since filing for divorce in 2016, with Brad getting visitation rights that often depended on Angelina's discretion. But now, it seems like Brad has scored a major win in this ongoing saga.
Here's the scoop: “Brad’s finally got the kids, and he’s overjoyed,” a family friend told In Touch. It’s been a long game for Brad, and it seems like his patience is finally paying off. Angelina has decided to let most of their children stay in Los Angeles with their dad while she heads to Britain to shoot Maleficent 2. The kids, who have summer camps and other activities lined up, seem happy with the arrangement too.
It Wasn’t Always Smooth Sailing
It wasn’t a walk in the park for Brad to get here. Initially, Angelina had plans to move all six kids to a home just outside of London while she filmed the Disney sequel through August. But here’s the twist: to avoid a potential fight from Brad, she promised him longer periods of time with the kids over the summer. That promise seems to have made all the difference.

What’s really interesting is that this change came about because the kids themselves expressed their desire to stay in LA. Angelina, who’s always been protective of her children, relaxed her stance when they told her they wanted to remain in Los Angeles, where she conveniently bought a home just five minutes from Brad’s place last year. Even though Angelina, 42, may come back to LA for short visits over the summer due to her flexible shooting schedule, Brad, 54, couldn’t be happier. He knows he’ll have the chance to bond with his kids in a way that’s been difficult in the past.
Brad Prepares the Playground
Brad isn’t wasting any time making the most of this opportunity. “He gets such enjoyment out of seeing them cut loose at their amusement park–like former home,” says the family friend. Brad has gone all out to ensure the kids have a memorable summer. He’s upgraded the pool area, spruced up the skateboard ramp, and even worked on the bike track to make it more fun for the kids. It’s clear he’s trying to create an environment where they can truly enjoy themselves.
And it’s not just about the fun stuff. Brad has carefully planned his work schedule around the kids. He’s currently working on Quentin Tarantino’s 1960s-set movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with Leonardo DiCaprio in LA, but he’s made sure his filming commitments won’t interfere with his time with the kids. “Brad has an assortment of day and overnight trips planned with the kids over the summer,” a source revealed. It’s evident that Brad is determined to make the most of this precious time.
