Since walking down the aisle with Prince Harry back in May, Meghan Markle has stepped into an extraordinary life of luxury and privilege. But as anyone who’s ever joined the royal family knows, there are sacrifices involved. From adhering to strict royal protocol to bidding farewell to her personal social media presence, Meghan has embraced her new role wholeheartedly. However, one more tradition might soon find itself on the chopping block: the extravagant baby shower.
According to royal expert Victoria Arbiter, speaking with The Sun, Meghan won’t be permitted to host a lavish baby shower once she becomes pregnant. "A grand baby shower would be seen as highly inappropriate," Arbiter explained. "There’s nothing Harry and Meghan can't go out and buy themselves." Let’s face it—when you're part of one of the wealthiest families in the world, showering yourself with gifts is practically a given.

Baby Showers: A Cultural Divide
Baby showers, though a beloved tradition in the U.S., aren’t quite as common across the pond. For Meghan, an American at heart, giving this up might feel like leaving behind a piece of her identity. With her newfound wealth and status as a princess, it makes sense that a more understated approach would be preferred. Instead of a big bash, Meghan may opt to accept thoughtful gifts from family and friends after the baby arrives.
Meghan is expected to follow in the footsteps of her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, who also chose not to host a large-scale baby shower. But let’s be real—Meghan and Harry aren’t wasting any time starting their family. They’re ready to dive headfirst into parenthood, and who could blame them?
“Meghan can’t wait to have kids herself and jokes that being a hands-on aunt is great practice for when she and Harry have their own brood,” a source revealed to Life & Style. “Meghan and Harry talk about having babies all the time and think it’ll be so much fun for all the kids to hang out together.” Sounds like these two are already envisioning playdates and family gatherings.
