Dancing With The Stars: Athletes—Who Will Take Home The Mirrorball Trophy?

DWTS recap: Two Not-So-Shocking Eliminations in Week Two - Parade

Hey there, folks! Tonight is the big night for Dancing With the Stars: Athletes, where we find out who’s walking away with the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. Fans are on the edge of their seats as the season finale approaches, and the competition is hotter than ever. The final three pairs—Tonya Harding and Sasha Farber, Josh Norman and Sharna Burgess, and Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson—are all vying for the top spot. Let’s dive into who these incredible athletes are and what makes them stand out on the dance floor!

Tonya Harding: The Skater With a Story

Meet Tonya Harding, the 47-year-old retired American figure skater whose life has been nothing short of dramatic. Back in 1991, she made history by becoming the first American woman to land a triple axel in competition. That’s right, folks, she absolutely crushed it on the ice. But, as you might know, her career took a dark turn in 1994 when her ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, orchestrated an attack on rival skater Nancy Kerrigan. Tonya ultimately pleaded guilty to hindering the investigation, which derailed her skating career. Fast forward to 2017, and her biopic, I, Tonya, brought her back into the spotlight. Now, she's here to prove that she's more than her past and ready to dazzle on the dance floor.

Josh Norman: The NFL Star With a Twist

Next up, we’ve got Josh Norman, the 30-year-old NFL cornerback for the Washington Redskins. Josh made a name for himself in the league after being drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2012. He’s not just a football star, though—he’s also got some serious dancing chops. Throughout the season, rumors swirled about a possible romance between Josh and his dance partner, Sharna Burgess. But Sharna was quick to set the record straight, telling Entertainment Tonight last month, "I am the only single woman on the show. So naturally, if there's anyone that people are gonna think there's a showmance for, I'm your girl, apparently." However, she did admit to ESPN that the two "have a lot of fun together" and "have great chemistry." So, who knows? Maybe there's something brewing under the surface!

And finally, we have Adam Rippon, the 28-year-old figure skater who made history in 2018 by becoming the first openly gay man to qualify for the Winter Olympics. Adam is all about visibility and representation, telling Life & Style, "It's amazing. Being gay was never a big deal for me. But it's a big thing for a lot of people, and I think it's just important to be visible and out and show your experience. It's a little part of who I am, but people still discriminate against other LGBTQ people." He continues, "It's important to be out and it doesn't really change anything. I got to the Olympics on my athletic achievements, and now here I am. This is who I am. This is what I'm made of, and I think it's important to show that being gay is such a little part of that." Adam's journey has been nothing short of inspiring, and he's bringing that same energy to the dance floor.
