How Princess Charlotte Embraces Life As A Middle Child In The Royal Family

Let’s talk about the royal family for a moment. Prince William and Kate Middleton recently welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, into the world. While everyone is celebrating the newest addition, there’s another family member who’s feeling the impact in a big way: Princess Charlotte. You see, Charlotte, who just turned three years old this month, is starting to experience what it's like to be a middle child. And guess what? That means plenty of hand-me-downs from her older brother, Prince George, who’s four years old.

Charlotte’s World of Hand-Me-Downs

According to a royal insider speaking to Us Weekly, Charlotte’s toy collection is heavily influenced by her brother George. “A lot of Charlotte’s toys are hand-me-downs from George,” the source shared. “Even though she’s definitely a girly girl, she also loves to play outside, just like George does.” Imagine her running around the palace grounds with one of George’s old scooters or hopping into a motorized Jeep he used to drive. It’s like sibling bonding on wheels!

But the hand-me-downs don’t stop at toys. Fans noticed during Prince Louis’ first official photos that Charlotte was sporting a familiar blue sweater from Spanish label Fina Ejerique. That’s right—it was George’s sweater! The last time we saw him in that navy knit was back in 2016, when he posed alongside Queen Elizabeth and her great-grandchildren for a special edition 90th birthday portrait by Annie Leibovitz. Talk about recycling style in the royal family!

    Big Sister Duties and Beyond

Despite all the hand-me-downs, Charlotte is absolutely thrilled to have a new baby brother. Sources say she’s practically glued to Louis’ side. “Charlotte is really enjoying having a younger brother to play with,” one insider revealed. “She takes her big sister duties very seriously. She won’t leave baby Louis’ side.” Sounds like she’s taking a page from George’s book, as the two share a close bond. The source added, “Charlotte is just like George. They have a great bond, and a similar connection is growing between Charlotte and Louis.” How heartwarming is that?

A New Addition to the Family

Prince Louis was born on April 23, weighing a healthy 8.3 pounds, making him the heaviest royal baby in 100 years. He’s now fifth in line to the British throne. Congratulations once again to William, Kate, and the entire family on their adorable new little prince!
