When actor John Krasinski took on the role of co-writer and director for the critically acclaimed horror film A Quiet Place, he knew he was in for a challenge. But working with his wife, Emily Blunt, turned out to be not just a professional triumph but also a personal highlight. “I’ve always been her biggest fan,” John admitted, “but it wasn’t until I saw her in action firsthand that I truly understood why she’s so extraordinary. Watching her perform is nothing short of breathtaking.”
This power couple, celebrating eight years of marriage this July, initially approached the idea of co-starring in the same movie with a bit of trepidation. “Everyone kept warning us, ‘You’ll be divorced by the time filming wraps,’” Emily joked, referencing the common belief that mixing work and relationships can be tricky. But as it turns out, the experience only brought them closer together. “Instead of driving us apart, it actually made us even stronger,” she added. John echoed her sentiment, saying, “Working with Emily is the best collaboration I’ve ever had, and I’m incredibly grateful for it.”

Family First: Raising Their Daughters
Off-screen, John and Emily are proud parents to two daughters, Hazel, 4, and Violet, 1. “She makes everyone around her better,” John has said about his wife, highlighting how much she enriches their family life. And Emily feels just as strongly about John. “Meeting John really changed my life,” she gushed. “When I feel the support that I have from him, I feel invincible. He’s my rock, and I’m endlessly grateful for him.”
How They Met: A Love Story Worth Telling
Their love story began with a chance meeting at a restaurant, where John, a self-proclaimed fan of Emily’s work, didn’t hesitate to express his admiration. “When we first met, I told her right off the bat, ‘I just want to get it out of the way — I’m a huge fan of yours,’” John recalled on The Graham Norton Show. “I was full-on stalker mode, like, ‘Hey, you want to go out on a date with me?’”
Emily’s version of the story is just as charming. She was dining with a friend, discussing how much she was enjoying her single life, when her companion suddenly exclaimed, “Oh, my God, there’s my friend John.” That serendipitous moment sparked a romance that led to their engagement within 10 months. “We were engaged so quickly, but I think we probably knew from the start,” Emily reminisced during a recent episode of The Jess Cagle Interview. “Here’s to many more years of happiness for this incredible couple!”
