Why Prince Louis Skipped Prince Harry And Meghan Markle's Royal Wedding

It looks like Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be stopping at No. 2

For months, the world was buzzing with excitement over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's royal wedding. Fans couldn't wait to see the extravagant ceremony at Windsor Castle. But amidst all the anticipation, one little royal didn't make an appearance—Prince William and Kate Middleton's youngest child, Prince Louis. Believe it or not, the reason for his absence is pretty simple: he was just too young to attend.

Back in early May, a Kensington Palace source confirmed to Us Weekly that the decision had been made for little Louis to sit this one out. While his parents and older siblings, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, took center stage at the wedding, Louis spent the day at home with the family’s beloved nanny, Maria Turrion Borrallo.

  • Now, let’s talk about the rest of the family. While Prince Louis stayed behind, the rest of the Cambridge clan had a front-row seat to the big day. William, 35, proudly served as Harry’s Best Man. When asked how he asked his older brother to take on the role, William joked, “How did I ask? I got down on one knee. He’s known for months.”

And William wasn’t shy about how thrilled he was to return the favor after Harry served as his Best Man at his own wedding to Kate in 2011. “It feels great. I’m thrilled and delighted, obviously. Revenge is sweet. I’ll be looking forward to it,” William quipped with a grin.

As for Prince George and Princess Charlotte, they played key roles in the wedding. George, 4, stepped up as a page boy, while Charlotte, 3, dazzled as a bridesmaid. Meanwhile, Kate didn’t have an official role in the ceremony (she was busy keeping an eye on George and Charlotte!) since Meghan opted not to have a Maid of Honor. But don’t worry, royal fans—there’s still a chance we might see Prince Louis at Princess Eugenie’s wedding!
