She said the Duchess, dressed in a peach coat and black heels, was using the Quick Check system, which allows my Waitrose customers to scan and pack their shopping straight into bags in the trolley as they go through the store, presenting a running total on a device. The woman spotted Kate doing her shopping inside the store, before then seeing her again 15 minutes outside when she approached her to say hello. She added: 'I just saw her browsing. I didn't want to get too close to her.' The woman said Kate was accompanied by a royal protection officer, who stood next to her as she loaded her shopping into the car. She added: 'I did actually say 'hello' to her as I walked past. She turned and said 'Hi, hello'.' According to the onlooker who caught her in action, the Duchess snagged either a sprig of coriander or parsley, complete with a 25 percent off sticker. How’s that for a bargain? Kate wasn’t just stopping there, though. She brought along her own recyclable bags, utilized the self-service check-out system, and packed her purchases into her Land Rover—all while being accompanied by a royal protection officer who stood guard nearby.

The witness, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted her surreal experience meeting the Duchess. “I was just in Waitrose doing a bit of shopping. I went around the corner of the aisle—and there she was!” she said. Just last Sunday, April 1, she attended the annual royal church service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor for the Easter holiday. With her third royal baby expected any day now, this shopping trip might just be one of her last before welcoming the newest addition to the Cambridge family.
