After almost four decades of shining on television screens, Katie Couric is proving that her career is far from over. The 61-year-old icon is taking her talents to a new frontier with her upcoming docuseries, America Inside Out, set to debut on the National Geographic Channel on April 11th. This series isn't just another show—it's a deep dive into the heart of America. Over six one-hour episodes, Katie embarks on a cross-country road trip, engaging citizens in candid conversations about some of the most pressing issues of our time, including religion, race, and the current political landscape.
Why This Show Matters
In an exclusive interview with AARP The Magazine, Katie opened up about the motivation behind America Inside Out. "I’ve been feeling very anxious these days. These are very tense times. We all seem to be in our own bubbles, working, living, and socializing with people who are just like us. It’s like we’ve lost the ability to truly understand each other," she shared. "But deep down, we all want the same things. We want to feel valued, to be productive, and to provide the best for our families. All we need to do is take the time to listen. That’s what this show is all about—reconnecting, rebuilding trust, and finding common ground."
A Sneak Peek of What's Coming
In mid-January, Katie gave her fans a taste of what to expect by releasing a trailer for America Inside Out on her YouTube channel. In the post, she expressed her excitement about the project. "I’m thrilled to share the first trailer for my upcoming series America Inside Out on National Geographic! For the past six months, I’ve been traveling across the country, talking to all kinds of people about some of the most divisive topics of our time. The six-part series premieres on April 11th, and I can’t wait for you all to join me on this journey. #AmericaInsideOut," she wrote.

Beyond the Show: What Else is Katie Up To?
With her new show on the horizon, you might wonder what else Katie has been up to lately. Since stepping down as Yahoo! News' Global Anchor in June 2017, she’s been expanding her production company, Katie Couric Media. It’s clear that Katie isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Recently, she reunited with NBC, where she spent 15 years as a Today show anchor from 1991 to 2006, to cover the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea. It’s safe to say that Katie Couric continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the world of journalism and entertainment. We can’t wait to tune in to her new show on the National Geographic Channel on April 11th!
