Hey there, folks! Let's talk about Monica Potter. If you're one of her 65,000 Instagram followers, you might have seen the buzz when she posted a cryptic photo on January 17, 2018. Well, the internet loves a good mystery, and her fans were quick to jump into the comments section to congratulate her. But, hold on a second! Some eagle-eyed followers noticed a bottle of Miralax in the background. Hmm… Could that mean the bump wasn't a baby bump after all? Interesting, right?

Fast forward to the next day, January 18, 2018, and Monica cleared things up in an Instagram video series. She wasn’t pregnant. Nope, not this time. But she did have something important to share—she’s been dealing with ulcerative colitis for almost two years. Her post was all about raising awareness for this condition, not announcing a pregnancy. Here's what she had to say:

"Thank you to everyone who has sent me well wishes. I’m not pregnant but wanted to shed some light on some issues we all may deal with, especially women. It’s never really talked about because it’s not sexy, pretty, or glamorous to say the least, so I decided to share a photo to possibly inspire my friends (you), create a platform to share stories, and rely on each other for support and guidance," she began, speaking candidly and directly to her followers.

Monica went on to explain that she’s had ulcerative colitis for nearly two years. She described flare-ups as both painful and frustrating. "For all of you who suffer from colitis or other abdominal issues, please know you’re not alone," she reassured her audience. "I’m going for a check-up on Friday and following up with a colonoscopy this month. I want to stress the importance of getting regular check-ups with your gastroenterologist or family physician."

Monica emphasized the need for open discussions about women’s health. "I hope this open discussion will lead to many other things we face as women, mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, and every role we take on," she said, encouraging her followers to prioritize their health and well-being.
