WTHR Sports Director Dave Calabro paid tribute to Jim during a heartfelt segment on Eyewitness News on November 30. "He always loved coming back for that annual singing of 'Back Home Again in Indiana,'" Dave said. "We lost a great friend and a true legend."
Calabro went on to share some personal insights about Jim's character: "He was just a regular guy. No airs, no pretense. He was approachable, loved people, and cherished his fans. It didn’t matter who you were or where you came from—he just loved people. That’s the kind of person he was."

Throughout his illustrious career, Jim Nabors wasn’t just limited to The Andy Griffith Show. He starred in a variety of other projects, including Valentine’s Day, Gomer Pyle: USMC, The Lost Saucer, The Love Boat, and The Carol Burnett Show. His filmography also includes notable movies like The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Cannonball Run II. Jim’s last acting role came in 1991 on The Carol Burnett Show.
