Phil Collins Hospitalized After Fall: Here's What We Know

Phil Collins Suffers Fall in Hotel Room, Cancels Upcoming Concerts

Hey there, friends! Let's talk about the legendary Phil Collins. The music icon, who's 66 years old, recently experienced a pretty rough fall at his London hotel room. This news came to light on Thursday, June 8, via an update on his official Facebook page. If you're a fan, you're probably as concerned as I am. Let's dive into the details.

Phil has been dealing with a condition called 'drop foot,' which is a result of a previous back operation. This condition makes walking quite challenging for him. The Facebook post explained that Phil got up in the middle of the night to use the restroom but unfortunately slipped in his hotel room. During the fall, he hit his head on a chair. Yikes, right? He was promptly taken to the hospital where he received stitches for a severe cut near his eye. Thankfully, the post reassured everyone that Phil is recovering well and will be under observation for 24 hours.

Phil's Upcoming Concerts Affected

Unfortunately, this incident has led to the cancellation of two sold-out London concerts that were scheduled for Thursday, June 8, and Friday, June 9, at the iconic Royal Albert Hall. But don't worry, these shows have been rescheduled for Sunday, November 26, and Monday, November 27. Phil is determined to continue his European tour, with his next stop being Cologne, Germany, on Saturday, June 10.

    Phil's Heartfelt Message to Fans

Phil expressed his sincere apologies to his fans and thanked them for their incredible support. He mentioned that he had a fantastic week with his first shows in a decade and is deeply grateful for the warm reception he received. He's excited to return and make it up to everyone. That's the kind of guy Phil is — always thinking of his fans.

Back in September 2009, Phil revealed that he could no longer play the drums following a neck surgery to repair a dislocated vertebrae. He stated that there wasn't much drama around his 'disability' and playing drums. Life happens, and Phil has faced it with grace and resilience.
