In the documentary celebrating his milestone 70th birthday, Prince, Son, and Heir: Charles at 70, he shared a deeply personal and meaningful gift he gave to his eldest grandson, Prince George, shortly after the little royal's birth in 2013.
“This is George’s wood,” Charles said, his voice warm with affection, as he pointed to an entire grove of trees at the arboretum of his Scottish estate, Birkhall. These trees were planted to mark the occasion of Prince George's arrival into the world. “As I get older, all I really long for is to plant trees,” the 69-year-old royal added, revealing a side of himself that's as thoughtful as it is environmental.

Camilla Parker Bowles, Charles’ beloved wife, also chimed in during the documentary, sharing her admiration for the thoughtful gift her husband had planted for their grandson. “You can’t believe how much it’s grown!” she exclaimed, pointing to the towering trees that now stand tall at Birkhall. “They were tiny saplings when they were first planted, but before you know it, they’ve grown so big that they dwarf you.” Her words paint a vivid picture of the passage of time and the enduring legacy Charles hopes to leave for his family.
