Let’s talk about a couple that’s making family life look absolutely perfect—Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman! In a recent interview, Keith opened up about his deep bond with his wife, Nicole, sharing just how much he values their time together. “I just can’t stand being away from her for two weeks—or even a week,” Keith told Brisbane’s 97.3FM Bianca, Terry, & Bob. That’s love, folks, pure and simple!
How They Keep Their Love Strong Despite Busy Schedules
Both Keith and Nicole have demanding careers, but that doesn’t stop them from finding ways to stay connected. They’ve mastered the art of scheduling to ensure they spend as much time together as possible. “We try to plan everything so we’re never apart for more than a handful of days,” Keith explained. It’s clear that these two prioritize their relationship, and it’s paying off big time. Who wouldn’t want a love like that?
Bringing the Family Along for the Ride
Since tying the knot in 2006, Keith and Nicole have always made their daughters, Sunday and Faith, a top priority. Whenever Nicole has a film project, the entire family relocates to be with her. For example, when Nicole was shooting the movie Lion in Australia, the Urbans simply packed up and moved down to Tasmania for a few days—or wherever else they needed to go. “We just stay together as a family because it’s really important to us,” Keith added. This kind of commitment shows just how much they value their family unit.

Family First: The Urban-Kidman Way
Nicole has also expressed in past interviews how their children influence both of their career decisions. For this couple, family always comes first. “There are times when it turns into a family meeting, and we all decide whether we can move somewhere for a period of time so Mommy can make a film or Daddy can go do his thing,” Nicole revealed. It’s heartwarming to see how involved their kids are in the decision-making process.

Take Nicole’s decision to pass on the Broadway play Photograph 51, for instance. Both her kids and Keith were firmly against it, and she listened. “I was going to do Photograph 51, which was a play I did in London, [in] New York, but both my kids said ‘no’ and my husband said ‘I hope not.’ So, there it is,” she said. “That’s the life of an actress who also prioritizes family because that’s what’s going to happen at times. I would have loved to have done that on Broadway, but I love my kids and my husband far more.” Talk about putting family first—these two truly have it figured out!
