Hey there! Let's talk about kindness, something we could all use a little more of in our lives. Fuller House star Candace Cameron Bure is all about putting the spotlight back on being kind. In an exclusive chat with Closer Weekly, she opened up about the inspiration behind her new self-help book, Kind Is the New Classy: The Power of Living Graciously. Candace explains that her time as a co-host on The View played a big role in shaping her perspective. "Being in a position where I had to learn how to keep conversations respectful and kind really made me realize how quickly we react and get angry," she shares. At 42, Candace has come to understand the importance of taking a step back and choosing kindness instead of conflict.
And here's the kicker—being kind doesn't have to be hard. In fact, it’s surprisingly simple. "It takes very little effort to be kind and really change someone's day around," Candace points out. Stay Positive Online
We all know social media can sometimes feel like a minefield. Candace admits it's one of the toughest places to practice kindness, but she insists it's worth the effort. "It can be hard to take the high road, but when you respond with kindness, people often don’t engage back," she explains. "They usually drop it and move on. That’s the power of kindness—it can defuse even the most heated situations."
Spread Compliments Like Butter
Candace loves giving compliments, whether to friends, family, or even strangers. "It makes me feel confident," she shares. "When I’m walking by and say something like, 'Wow, your eyes are beautiful!' I know it’s going to make that person feel good. And honestly? It makes me feel good too!"
Get Moving
Exercise is a big part of Candace's routine. She loves hiking and says it helps her stay mentally strong. "Exercise is really important," she notes. "It helps me let go of little annoyances and focus on the bigger picture. When I’m physically active, I find it easier to be kind and patient in my everyday life."

Be Kind to Yourself
Self-care is a big part of Candace's philosophy. "A part of kindness is being kind to yourself," she explains. "When you treat yourself well, it becomes easier to pass that kindness on to others." For Candace, this means spending time in prayer and focusing on her mental and spiritual well-being. "It’s all about centering myself and staying grounded," she says.
Lean on Your Loved Ones
As a mom of three and the wife of former ice hockey pro Valeri Bure, Candace knows the importance of family. "We’re a super-tight family," she shares. "Having that strong support system helps me stay grounded and keeps me connected to what really matters in life." Whether it's sharing a meal or just enjoying quiet moments together, family plays a key role in her life.
