Let's face it, folks—Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's love story feels like it was pulled straight out of those classic teen movies we all grew up watching. Remember The Prince and Me? That's exactly what this feels like. A commoner meets a rebellious prince, and suddenly, we're living in our very own romantic fairytale. So, it shouldn’t come as a shock that Lifetime is diving headfirst into this royal whirlwind with a made-for-TV movie, set to air on May 13—just six days before the highly anticipated royal wedding.
First Peek at the Royal Love Story
With the big day fast approaching, Lifetime has dropped a 20-second teaser trailer that gives us all the feels. It’s packed with all the cheesy lines, breathtaking backdrops, Ed Sheeran-style guitar pop, and those unforgettable sunset kisses that we’ve been dreaming about. At one point, the actor playing Harry even declares, “I don’t need my life to be this perfect royal picture. I just need you.” Cue the swooning. Now, all we’re missing is a sneak peek of the young royals, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, making their small-screen debut. Don’t miss the trailer below!
Walking in the Footsteps of William & Kate
This Lifetime production follows the same path as William & Kate: The Movie, which chronicled the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s journey from their days at St. Andrews in Scotland to their wedding day at Westminster Abbey in London. Interestingly, despite the British setting, the entire movie was filmed in LA. If you recall, The Guardian hilariously noted that London buses were shown driving on the wrong side of the road. Talk about authenticity!

The Cast: Who’s Playing Harry and Meghan?
Lifetime announced the casting details earlier this year, revealing Parisa Fitz-Henley and Murray Fraser as the on-screen versions of Meghan and Harry. Parisa has quite the resume, having starred in Netflix’s Jessica Jones and NBC’s Midnight, Texas. Murray, on the other hand, has only two roles under his belt—both in ITV productions. While Parisa looks strikingly similar to Meghan, Murray might be a bit of a stretch. But hey, casting is always subjective!
