There’s a line you just don’t cross, and Alex Reimer from WEEI radio stepped way over it. Tom Brady, the NFL legend and regular guest on The Kirk & Callahan Show, is rethinking his relationship with the station after one of its hosts insulted his five-year-old daughter, Vivian Lake Brady. Calling her a “pissant” is not just inappropriate—it’s downright cruel. Let’s break this down.
A Grown Man Insulting a Child? Really?
Last week, WEEI's Alex Reimer was discussing the first episode of Tom Brady’s new Facebook Watch series, Tom vs. Time. The show gives fans an inside look at the life of the Patriots' quarterback, including glimpses into his personal life. But instead of appreciating the opportunity to see a softer side of Brady, Reimer went after the QB’s young daughter. He referred to Vivian as an “annoying little pissant.” Can you believe that? A grown man publicly mocking a child? It’s hard to fathom.

Brady’s Response: Respect, but Enough is Enough
When the 40-year-old NFL superstar finally appeared on The Kirk & Callahan Show after the incident, he didn’t mince words. “I’ve tried to come on this show for many years and show you guys a lot of respect,” Brady said. “I’ve always tried to come on and do a good job for you. It’s very disappointing when you hear that, certainly. My daughter, or any child, doesn’t deserve that kind of disrespect.”
Hang-Up and Consequences
Brady didn’t stop there. He made it clear that he was reevaluating whether he wanted to return to the show. “I’ll obviously evaluate whether I want to come on this show again, so I really don’t have much to say this morning. Maybe I’ll speak with you guys some other time,” he stated before hanging up. Fortunately, Kirk Minihane, one of the show’s hosts, stepped up to apologize. He assured Brady that Alex Reimer had been suspended for the entirety of Super Bowl week. While it’s not the most substantial apology, it’s a start.
Gisele Bündchen’s Silence and Merriam-Webster’s Take
Tom Brady’s wife and Vivian’s mom, Gisele Bündchen, hasn’t commented publicly on the situation. However, Merriam-Webster chimed in with some perspective. “Lookups for 'pissant' are up over 115,000%,” they tweeted. “It’s not generally used to insult children.” For those unfamiliar, the word means “an insignificant or contemptible person or thing,” blending the urinary sense of piss and the insect-like sense of ant. Real classy, Alex. Maybe we can all agree that children should be off-limits when it comes to adult arguments?
